What this YouTube video downloader actually does

NoTube resolves the link you paste and hands back a list of files with their sizes attached. That is the whole product — a free online YouTube video downloader with no queue page and no captcha between you and the file. A youtu.be short link and a full youtube.com/watch URL resolve to the same list.
What it will not do: playlists in bulk. Paste a playlist URL and NoTube says so rather than quietly grabbing the first video and calling it done. No ID3 tag editor, so an MP3 arrives with whatever metadata the source had. No login, so no resume — close the tab mid-fetch and you start that file over.
How to download YouTube videos on phone
In the YouTube app, tap Share, then Copy link. Open NoTube in Safari or Chrome, paste into the box, tap Download, then Convert on the row you want.
On iPhone the file lands in Files → Downloads; Android drops it into the Downloads folder. Nothing installs either way — iOS Safari’s own download manager does the saving. One warning: 1080p over cellular costs roughly 250 MB for ten minutes. On a train, 480p.
How to download YouTube videos in laptop
Same moves, fewer taps. Copy the URL out of the address bar, paste it here, and the rows appear underneath. Press Convert, then Save file, and the browser takes over — Downloads folder on Windows, macOS or Linux, no different from saving a PDF. The work happens on our servers, not your CPU, so a 2014 ThinkPad finishes about as fast as a new one.
Do you need a YouTube video downloader app?
Usually not. A YouTube video downloader app wants permissions on a device that also holds your email and your photos, and it breaks the week YouTube changes something server-side — then you wait for a patch to clear a store review queue. A browser tool gets fixed on our end and you never find out it was broken.
The tradeoff runs the other way too. A desktop application can queue forty files overnight and write into a tagged media library, and we cannot. If bulk archiving is your job, install something built for it.

Quality, file size, and the 1 GB ceiling
A YouTube video download at 1080p runs about 25 MB per minute — call it 1.5 GB an hour. At 720p, roughly half that. Audio is a different order of magnitude: about 1 MB per minute.
Which is where the ceiling comes in. Files over 1 GB are refused, and the row is badged before you click rather than after you wait. Forty minutes at 1080p is fine; two hours is not. Step down a tier.
We cannot invent quality that was never uploaded, either. If a creator published at 720p, 720p is the best row you will see. The source, unaltered.
What you are allowed to save
Downloads through NoTube are for personal use, and only for material you have the right to keep: your own uploads, public-domain and Creative Commons work, anything whose owner said yes.
