Most downloader sites quietly build a record of what people save. We built NoTube so that record can’t exist: no accounts, so a download is never tied to a person, and no stored history. The list on your screen is the only list there is, and it goes when you close the tab.
Links are processed transiently: we use the URL to locate the media, hand the file over, and move on. Our privacy policy is short precisely because there is so little to disclose — two minutes, and we’d rather you read it.
What we never ask for

If you can't watch it signed out, we can't reach it either — there is no account here to sign in with.
A yt download works from this many shapes because they all carry the same eleven-character video ID. We read the ID and ask YouTube which renditions exist. Where the file lands, and how to get it into your gallery
A browser download goes to a folder, not into your photo app. Here’s the extra tap on each platform.
How to download videos from YouTube to gallery on Android
Chrome drops the MP4 into Downloads. Google Photos and Samsung Gallery index that folder within a minute — pull down to refresh and it turns up under Albums.
If it never appears, your gallery is only scanning the camera folder. Long-press the MP4 in Files and move it to Movies or DCIM. Once per file, and that’s the whole fix.
How to download YouTube videos to gallery on iPhone
iOS trips people up. Safari saves the MP4 into the Files app under On My iPhone → Downloads, not into Photos. The download arrow beside the address bar takes you there.
To move it across, open it in Files, tap the share icon, then Save Video. iOS only offers that for real video files — one more reason we hand you a plain MP4.

Live streams
What a YouTube live video downloader can actually do
While a stream is still running there is no finished file to hand you — YouTube publishes it in chunks, and the length and the quality list are both still moving. Paste a link to a live broadcast and you get a message back, not a download row. The archive is a different story: once the creator ends the stream, YouTube republishes it at a normal watch URL and it behaves like any other video here. Higher renditions can take an hour to process, so a missing 1080p row straight after a stream is usually just early.
Size is the real constraint on long broadcasts. Two hours at 1080p lands near 2.4 GB, past our 1 GB per-file cap; at 480p the same two hours comes in around 720 MB. For a talking-head stream that trade costs nothing. For a gameplay marathon it does, and this isn’t the right tool for archiving those at full quality. And if the creator deletes the archive or hides it, a YouTube downloader can’t reach it either.

Is it legal to download YouTube video files?
It depends on the video and on what you do next — and that part is on you, not on the tool.
Keeping a personal offline copy of something you are allowed to watch — a lecture for a flight, your own uploads, footage a client sent you — is ordinary personal use in most places. Re-uploading someone else’s work or selling it isn’t, and no downloader changes that.
Copyright stays with whoever made the video. NoTube hosts nothing — we resolve a public link and pass the file to your browser. Rights holders reach us through the DMCA page, and we answer. Read YouTube’s Terms of Service yourself rather than taking a downloader site’s word for it; private copying is treated differently country to country.
