  • 100% free

  • Works on any device

The experience

Four steps from link to MP4

Four states, about ten seconds, zero redirects. Exactly what you’ll see in the box above — there is no fifth step hiding behind a countdown.

01

Paste

Drop any YouTube URL into the box — a watch link, a Short, or a share link from the app. The paste button reads your clipboard, so you don’t even press Ctrl+V.

02

We fetch details

In a second or two we pull the title, the duration, and every rendition YouTube stores up to 1080p. Nothing transfers yet.

03

Pick from the list

Every MP4 quality the video has arrives at once, each row carrying its size. Anything over 1 GB is flagged instead of failing later.

04

Save

Press Convert, watch the real progress bar fill, then hit Save file. The file lands in your browser’s normal download folder as a clean MP4.

Why NoTube

Built like a tool, not a trap

Most downloader sites monetize confusion: fake buttons, forced waits, surprise installers. This one gets you from link to file with no detours.

Works where installs can’t

NoTube is a web page, not a program, so it runs on locked-down work laptops, school Chromebooks, and borrowed machines where installing software isn’t an option.

No sign-up wall

There is no account to create and no daily counter nudging you toward a paid tier. Paste as many links as you need, whenever you need them.

Every quality that exists

The list shows the renditions YouTube actually stores, from 360p to 1080p Full HD. No upscaled fakes, no greyed-out rows used as bait.

Clean, standard files

Downloads are plain MP4 files that open in any player or editor. Want just the audio or the cover image? Those come from their own dedicated tools.

Private by default

Links are processed on demand and nothing is stored — no history, no profile. The details live in our privacy policy, in plain language.

Sizes shown before you commit

Every option lists its file size up front — grab 480p on hotel wifi, save 1080p for home. Anything over the 1 GB free limit is badged before you click, not after a wait.

Compatibility

Any platform, any modern browser

If it opens YouTube, it runs NoTube. There is nothing to install, so there is nothing to be incompatible with.

NoTube is a browser tool, not an installed app — there is no version to match to your operating system. If your device runs any browser updated in the last few years, every tool on this site works there.

Quality & size

Every resolution, and how big it gets

The full ladder from 360p to 1080p Full HD. What a video weighs matters more than people admit.

Sizes assume a typical 10-minute video and vary with motion, frame rate, and encoding. Every option shows its exact size before you download, and free downloads are capped at 1 GB per file — larger rows are flagged with an Over 1 GB badge.

By device

Laptop, phone, tablet — the steps barely change

The tool is one page. The only real difference is where each operating system files the finished MP4.

Downloading on a laptop

On Windows and macOS the four steps above are the whole procedure. The saved MP4 lands in the same Downloads folder as everything else you grab from the web.

The reason to use a browser tool on a laptop is narrower than most sites admit: permissions. School Chromebooks, work-issued machines, and library PCs block installers, and every well-known desktop grabber wants admin rights before it will start. A page does not. Search for a YouTube video download for Windows and you will be handed an .exe within two clicks. You never needed one.

Downloading on phone and tablet

One wrinkle per platform. On Android, Chrome writes the MP4 to Downloads and the Files app finds it immediately — but some gallery apps only index the Movies folder, so move the file there if it never appears in your camera roll.

On iPhone and iPad, Safari's download manager holds the file until you tap the arrow; Save to Files then puts it wherever you point. iOS 13 is the floor — before that Safari could not write downloads at all, and no web tool works around it.

Full HD

YouTube 1080p download, and what Full HD costs you

1080p is the top rung here, and the tradeoff is worth stating before you pick it. A ten-minute clip at 1080p runs around 250 MB; the same ten minutes at 720p is about 130 MB. Nearly half the size, for a difference you will struggle to see on a phone and will absolutely see on a television. Match the resolution to the screen it ends up on.

Full HD also decides whether you hit the 1 GB per-file limit. At 1080p that ceiling arrives around 25 minutes of video; at 480p a two-hour lecture still fits. When a row is flagged as over the limit, dropping one rung is almost always enough.

Which rungs exist isn’t ours to decide. YouTube transcodes the creator’s upload into a ladder of renditions, and a rung appears only when the source held that much detail — a phone-shot 720p video will never show a 1080p row. Age matters too. Early uploads often stop at 360p, and a video posted an hour ago can still be missing its top rungs.

So a full HD YouTube downloader can only hand you what YouTube actually holds. Your list here matches the quality menu on YouTube itself up to 1080p — above that we stop, for the reason in the FAQ. Sites promising 4K on every video are upscaling, which multiplies file size and adds no detail. The mechanics, paste to signed link, are laid out in how to download YouTube videos.

The honest part

What free actually covers here

Free here means what it sounds like — a free online YouTube video downloader that never asks for an account or an email and has no trial to expire on the fourth download. There is no “upgrade for HD” gate in front of the 1080p row either.

What it does not mean is unlimited. The edges, stated plainly so you meet them here rather than three minutes into a transfer:

  • Files stop at 1 GB each. No daily quota behind it — just a per-file ceiling.
  • 1080p is the maximum resolution, and nothing here is upscaled to fake a bigger number.
  • One video per paste. Playlist page links are declined with a message that says so.
  • No app, no extension, no login. If you want it on your phone’s home screen, bookmark the page.

Those exist because the service is free and shared. A 1 GB cap keeps one person saving a four-hour stream from starving the queue for everyone else pasting a music video. If a yt downloader promises no limits at all, it is charging you later or selling something else.

Safe & legal

Is a YouTube downloader safe to use?

The danger here has never really been the download. It is the delivery — fake buttons, an installer disguised as a codec, an extension that wants to read every page you visit. A page that hands back a plain MP4 sidesteps all of it. Nothing executes on your machine, and the file is a standard container your player already knows.

Legality is a separate question, and a genuinely grey one. Saving your own uploads, Creative Commons material, or a video you have permission to keep is generally fine. Re-uploading someone else’s work is not, and YouTube’s terms restrict downloading outside the features it provides. Copyright stays with the creator no matter which tool moved the bytes.

Keep your downloads to personal, offline use — and if a license is unclear, leave the video on YouTube. Our YouTube downloader safety FAQ covers the specifics; the terms of service sets out what we allow.

The rest of the toolkit

Which page should you actually open?

This page is the general-purpose one. If the file is headed for Premiere or CapCut, go straight to the YouTube to MP4 converter. Vertical clips keep their 9:16 frame in the YouTube Shorts downloader. The YouTube thumbnail downloader pulls the cover art at full resolution. For sound only, the YouTube to MP3 converter leaves a file a tenth the size. Handed a link and unsure what is behind it? The download YouTube video tool is the same engine, link-first. And if you are working through a course or an album, the YouTube playlist downloader lays out the video-by-video pass.

Your next download is one paste away

Scroll back up, drop in a link, pick a row. A YouTube downloader should cost you one paste and about ten seconds, with no account standing in the way. This one does.
